2026 Fall Open Show Entry Form

Exhibit Guidelines

  1. Entries must be delivered to University of South Alabama Charles M. Baugh Biomedical Library (second floor) on Thursday September 3, 2026 between 4:00-6:00 p.m.


  1. Artwork must be entered by the original artist. Artists must be 18 years or older to submit artwork.


  1. Artwork must be the artist's original creation from conception to completion. Artwork must not be copied from internet images or other artists' work. No computer generated, AI-aided, electronic art nor artwork created as part of a workshop or class will be accepted. Reference images for artwork must be the artist's own intellectual property. Artist's must have written permission from the photographer to use reference images that are not their own in the creation of their artwork.


  1. Two-dimensional artwork must be properly framed (loose tape and backing will not be accepted) and securely wired for hanging, complete with mounting hardware and appropriate matting or gallery wrap. Absolutely no sawtooth hangers, unwired metal rings, or eyehooks will be accepted. We recommend D-rings with wire. Artists submitting three-dimensional artwork may be asked to provide appropriate pedestals if the venue is unable to do so.


  1. Each entry must have an ID label attached to the back prior to delivery. Labels are available on the Mobile Art Association's Forms and Payment page (https://www.mobileartassociation.org/forms-payment). Print, complete, and adhere the label to the back of each artwork prior to show take-in.


  2. MAA and the host venue reserve the right to refuse an work for public display that is deemed obscene, offensive, unsafe, or disregards exhibite guidelines. MAA will handle your artwork with the utmost care during preparation, transport and exhibit, however, the organization and individuals providing this service may not be held liable for damages. Entry Fee

Please ensure that you are an MAA member in good standing (payment is current) before registering your artwork as an MAA member. If you aren't sure about your membership status, please contact us at mobileartassociation@mobileartassciation.org to verify before you submit this form. New members are welcome. If you decide to become a new MAA member, please complete the membership form and payment on our website before submitting this form. You do not need to be an MAA member to enter the Fall Open Show.

Hold Harmless Agreement

I understand that in offering my works of art to be displayed at Charles M. Baugh Biomedical Library, I hold harmless the University of South Alabama, its officials, boards, commissions, and employees from any claim including but not limited to injury to person, damage to art work or other property, loss by fire, theft, or any other cause, nor will I be a party to any lawsuit related to the display of my artwork at said location.   I understand that the University of South Alabama may use electronic versions of my artwork, and I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the University and its respective agents and employees against any damages, claims, costs, and liabilities (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to its use of electronic versions of my artwork, including, but not limited to any such damages, claims, costs, or liabilities arising out of or related to claims by third parties that the electronic versions of your artwork infringe upon the patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual or creative property rights of others. This is a legal and binding hold harmless agreement.
